Our regular worship services will be held at 2pm and 4pm and we'd love to have you join us. We will be contemplating the beatitudes found in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-10).
These remarkable teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ serve as the groundwork for all that follows in the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus is teaching us what we need to know about ourselves and about the way in which we can live the blessed life.
Allegedly, Michelangelo, the famous sculptor and painter, once said, “Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.” This is a very fitting impression of our natural human optimism about what we can produce in our own lives if we quest after happiness within.
Isn't there always a nagging sense that there is something horribly wrong? An inescapable recognition of guilt and an offense which we have all committed against the Lord God?
Jesus, our king, gives us a glorious and trustworthy declaration of what it means to be blessed from above - to receive His blessing to us!
No longer do we search within ourselves for happiness but look to heaven to receive happiness, holiness, and blessedness from our Lord and King!
